Celebrating the Divorce

I got this tattoo on my 21st birthday in a drunken stupor. While I was drunk as hell, I did know what I was getting and there is a meaning behind it.
The tat is of a dagger/black widow combo. At this time in my life I was going through a nasty divorce and it seemed fitting. The female black widow has been known to eat/kill their mate after sex. I guess I got it to symbolize the finality that the divorce would bring.
In regards to my culture the following also plays a big part in why I admire spiders. The paragraph below explains it better than I could in my own words.
In Spider Medicine the black window represents creativity. Its 8 legs represent the 4 winds of change and the 4 directions on the medicine wheel. Its body is in the shape of an 8, which represents infinite possibilities. ”Spider people” must look beyond the web of illusion of the physical world and look beyond the horizon to other dimensions.
