His 50th Birthday

Today my husband turned 50 years old. He didn’t want to go out and he didn’t want to make a big deal about it. For once, I listened to what he wanted. I stopped pestering him to get together with friends weeks ago. I decided that since all he wanted was a good home cooked meal and time with family, that’s what he was going to get.

He had to work today which is unusual since he usually works a different shift. That gave me the time I needed to get everything all ready for dinner. Not gonna lie, I picked today of all days to try something new and bake a dessert that I had never made before and I was nervous that in the end we were going to be ordering pizza.

My husband is a meat person, so I made him petite bacon wrapped sirloin steaks, corn, beans, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and cheesecake for dessert. I made the steaks in our pressure cooker (new technique) and the cheesecake I had never made before and was making from scratch (it turned out great).

A little on the thin side when it comes to the crust, but it tasted so freaking good!

Over all, I’m pretty damn proud of myself. Even better, hubs loved everything. I might just nail this housewife thing yet. 😉

Have a great rest of your week and remember…

Stay Saucy,

Sayre
