My husband and I went to run errands in Coolidge yesterday and stumbled across this gem of a store. It’s a discount grocery that carries name brand items that the stores no longer carry due to an encroaching sell by date, dented cans, or items that are otherwise not able to be sold at full price.
The store is located in Coolidge off the main drag over by the Ace Hardware store and the McDonalds. Hours are from 8am to 8pm. I believe seven days of the week but Sunday might be a day they are closed. I forgot to ask and the receipt only has the hours on it.
For $129 and change we got the items in the picture below. All name brand and many of them gluten free.
Now, before you say, “But that’s still a lot to spend in one pop”, let me tell you that the olive oil alone would have been between $60 and $75 at a normal grocery store. Glucerna snacks for diabetics cost an arm and a leg as well. So when you look at what you spent and what you would have spent at say Safeway, we did pretty good.
So if you happen to be driving through Coolidge any time soon, I recommend checking it out. Some will like it and some won’t. The only thing I can tell you is, you don’t know until you try it. I for one love to put money back into my community (Florence, Coolidge, Eloy) and will definitely be going back.
