A Much Needed Day
Yesterday I got to spend some much needed time with my mom. We don't live that far away from each other but it also isn't right next door (though I wish it was). We went to the Desert Foothills Book Festival, lunch, and wrapped up with some shopping.
This was my first time at the book festival and I was pleasantly surprised. It was held at The Holland Center in Scottsdale, Arizona and was just big enough so that the authors all had great exposure at their tables.
I picked up some new laptop stickers, a few books, and a flask (which will be getting some serious use during the writing phase lol).
Lunch was next and we went over to Oregano's in Cave Creek. I can't believe that I haven't been there before. I think I was the last one in the family to try them and boy have I been missing out. They have a Peach Bellini that is to die for and the portions are absolutely gigantic. Mom and I split an antipasto salad and their take an alfredo.
All in all it was a great day and evening. Mom and I needed the time together and I hope that we can do it more often going forward.
