SA: WHEN DID YOU FIRST REALIZE YOU WANTED TO BE A WRITER?
MR: 2005. when I was watching Fairly Odd Parents when Wanda wrote a novel in a night. That episode lit a spark in me that’s been building ever since.
SA: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO WRITE A BOOK?
MR: Approximately six months to 1 year. With being the primary parent, I don’t have all the time in the world to write anymore.
SA: DOES WRITING ENERGIZE OR EXHAUST YOU?
MR: I’d say it more so calms me more than anything. To be able to slip into my MC’s heads and write the stories they tell.
SA: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR INTERESTING WRITING QUIRK?
MR: I need to have a snack, coffee, or anything to drink. That or I need to have a candle burning next to me.
SA: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION OR IDEAS FOR YOUR BOOKS?
MR: I let the world around me influence me into a new idea, or when I see people searching for a recommendation, that’s when inspiration strikes.
SA: WHEN DID YOU WRITE YOUR FIRST BOOK AND HOW OLD WERE YOU?
MR: In 2008, I was 14 when I wrote my first original novel.
SA: WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT WRITING?
MR: I like to watch movies and TV and spend time with my family
SA: DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS TO HELP SOMEONE BECOME A BETTER WRITER IF SO WHAT ARE THEY?
MR: Don’t second guess yourself, and always believe in yourself.
SA: WHAT IS YOUR WRITING KRYPTONITE?
MR: Overuse of the words look, looked, and looking. I also struggle hard with tense.
SA: WHAT OTHER AUTHORS ARE YOU FRIENDS WITH, AND HOW DO THEY HELP YOU BECOME A BETTER WRITER?
SA: You & Willow Winters. They help me navigate through my rough ideas, encourage me to write said idea or help me polish my ideas.
MR: HOW DID PUBLISHING YOUR FIRST BOOK CHANGE YOUR PROCESS OF WRITING?
MR: My debut novel is coming soon. So unfortunately you will have to wait just a little bit longer.
SA: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE UNDERAPPRECIATED NOVEL?
MR: Love Bites by Angela Knight. It’s what got me into romance and erotic romance when I was in my early 20s.
SA: DO YOU HIDE ANY SECRETS IN YOUR BOOKS THAT ONLY A FEW PEOPLE WILL FIND?
MR: None that I know of at this time.
SA: WHAT DOES LITERARY SUCCESS LOOK LIKE TO YOU?
MR: Where your books touch someone. Where you have a solid foundation of fans and supporters without being rich or famous.
SA: DO YOU HAVE ANY EVENTS OR SPECIAL THINGS COMING UP?
MR: None at this time.
