Interesting Night
Last night we got ready for bed, found something to watch for a bit and settled in. About 10 minutes into that routine the entire house went dark. In true paycheck to paycheck fashion I freaked out and made sure that I paid the bill. I did. Then I peaked outside. The entire neighborhood was dark. And when I say dark, I mean, all houses, streetlights, everything was dark. This happened at about 11:30pm.
I hopped on Facebook to see if anyone else outside our section was without power and was surprised when it went all through our town as well as the unincorporated area on the outskirts. Total power failure which also meant no water since the pumping stations didn't have power either. It was eerie. Like horror movie setup eerie.
Our power company estimated a time for it to be back on about 3:30am, which was okay. The weather was beautiful so we opened all the windows and we have a battery backup and made sure our phones were charged. Hubs pulled up tv on his phone (thank goodness for unlimited internet on our mobile plan) so we could have some noise.
About 12:30/1:00am out of the blue our truck horn started going crazy. Hubs thought that someone might be breaking in to the truck so he yelled out the window and went down to check. Nada. Nobody around, no indication of anyone trying to get into the truck. It was weird. He got it to stop, made it back upstairs and about 10 minutes later it happened again. Talk about irritating.
Power came back on about 2ish. Truck stopped for a while and then started up again this morning. I'm telling ya the damn thing is haunted.
Anywho, that was our night. Truck goes in this week to see what is causing it and hopefully it's not an expensive fix.
