LOW KEY CHRISTMAS
This year was extremely low key. Spending time with the family, watching football, and of course eating.
Hubs cooked Christmas Eve dinner (well the fish part) and my mom cooked a ham (my dad doesnt do fish if he can help it). Many helpings were had by all.
This year we set a reasonable budget for the kids and they each got a larger present instead of many small ones. It was also the first year that "Santa" didnt make an appearance for my youngest son. I have to admit that I'm a little sad when I think about that. The boys are growing up and this kind of sealed the deal for me.
This year was special though. My brother was able to join us and for the first time in a long time we just talked. To some that may not mean a lot, but to me it means everything. The short one also got to play Mexican Train with his grandma and uncle (even though he cheats lol). Hearing the laughter made my heart smile.
2016 was a good year for the most part and it seems to be ending well. The family is healthy outside of the seasonal cold/flu situations, happy, and we all have a roof over our heads. I consider that a win.
So heres looking forward to a great 2017.
