RSJ - Day 1
Day one of the RSJ Convention is in the books and it was amazing!
I have been to conferences before for other things in a past life, and I have been to hybrid conferences for writing and attended as a virtual attendee. This was my first ALL virtual conference and I’m telling you, it is an amazing event.
I’m attending as both an author and a reader, but my concentration is as an author. I signed up for pitch sessions and had my first one today, which went better than expected. Two more appointments for that tomorrow mid morning, a ton more workshops, and networking opportunities galore.
I’m the type of person who struggles to fit in sometimes. I’m not enough or too much, depending on the situation. That didn’t happen with this group of amazing readers and talented authors. It felt like I had known them all my life, and that made today special. Everyone was so encouraging and genuine in their interactions with others. Something you don’t find in many places these days.
I’m looking forward to the next two days and as soon as registration opens up for next year, I’m there.
